Dale Strong and Barbara Yorch were joined as husband and wife on Aug. 24, 2013, at the Dewey Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Prescott Valley.

Both widowed, Barbara and Dale met on Facebook after his son entered his name on a dating site. They first communicated via email, then through phone calls, and finally met in person at a Golden Corral in Casa Grande, about half-way between her home in San Manuel and his in Prescott Valley.

"There were roses on my table," Barbara said. "I'm thinking, 'I like this.'"

The first time she visited Dale at his home, he had spread rose petals all over the driveway.

"I decided then I'd better not let him get away," Barbara said, smiling.

At their wedding ceremony, Dale's granddaughter, Ivy Hernandez, played violin, and his daughter-in-law, Christine Strong, played the piano.

Mr. and Mrs. Strong live in Prescott Valley. They celebrated their marriage with family members over the Labor Day weekend and plan to enjoy a honeymoon trip to the Navajo Nation at the end of September.
