Now in its fourth season, the Prescott Valley Community Garden is looking for renters and volunteers for the upcoming growing season on its 10-acre property donated by the Fain Family for use by gardeners. The acreage is behind Albertson's grocery store.
The garden provides fresh produce for needy people through St. Vincent de Paul and the Yavapai Food Bank, and has donated 13,400 lbs. of produce in three years.
All produce is organic, with most grown from heirloom seeds.
Donations were made possible by volunteers who donated more than 100 hours of service week in and week out, and the teenagers from the Yavapai Juvenile Court Center who contributed more than 500 hours.
Plots are now available to renters at $75, plus a $25 refundable deposit, for two 4x15-foot plots or $40, plus $15 deposit, for one 4x15-foot plot. Rent includes the automatic drip watering system.
