Special to the Tribune
Tour de PeeVee is celebrating 10 years of running and walking for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Prescott Valley. Bring friends and family to cheer you on and help fill your goodie bags up at Tour de PeeVee's Health Fair with free samples from a variety of health and wellness organizations. New to this year's event is a Corporate Team Challenge and 2-Mile Walk-A-Thon.
Races are run on asphalt and start/finish at a 5,145-foot elevation. The half-marathon includes a portion of the scenic and popular Iron King Trail, with incredible rock formations and old railroad mine cars. The half-marathon and health fair start at 7 a.m. following the 10K, 5K, 2-Mile Fun Walk, raffle drawing and award ceremony. Participants will receive T-shirts, finisher medals and amenities.
One hundred and fifty dollars in pledges waives fee for any event; there is a $40 registration fee for the half-marathon, and a $30 fee for 10K, 5K, & 2 Mile Fun Walk. The fee increases by $5 after Sept. 3. Register and get information on student rates, the Corporate Team Challenge and the Walk-A-Thon online at www.tourdepeevee.com or call 776-8686. You can also register and pick up race bags the evening before the event at Hampton Inn & Suites in Prescott Valley from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 21, or on Race Day at the Start/Finish between Fuddruckers restaurant and The Chamber of Commerce in Prescott Valley.
